Pictures in the Life of Diane

Through the eyes and little camera of diane! Mostly pictures of Korean bands and the scene with a twist of my student and a splash of randomness. I must say that its makes a nice cocktail.

Spring Hike and Picnic (March16)

Well it was time for our Spring Hike and Picnic! We could not have asked for a more beautiful day then the one we got. There was not a cloud in the sky and the air was just the right temp. The kids were excited because they got to get out of the building for a while and they loved the idea of a picnic. We took them to the top of the church property. Which is quite a hike and the kids and myself were sweating by the time we got to the top. They were mystified by the sites and sounds of the woods. Most of the hike they were quiet and pointing out this and that to each other. It was cute and I was not hit so hard by the photo bug then this day. Usually I wont bother with that many pictures but this day was special and I took over 300 pictures. Most came out great but there was no way that I could edit and post 300 pictures on one blog entry. So lets get to this magical day. We started out getting the kids ready and explaining the day and the rules that they had to follow. While listening they drank their milks. They love the stuff. I dont understand it...haha.
The PA system was giving out alot of backfeed. They were not happy with it..haha.

Brandon hears through his eyes..heehee. When they all were covering there ears he covered his eyes..heehee. He is my class clown.

Rebekah was happy to show off her newly lost tooth.

Here they all are playing a game. Its the walking, running and freezing game.

Now its time for us to head out on our hike. Boy is it bright outside. They all were squinting...haha.

Now its time to get started on our hike.

Group picture time.

Ok back to the hike. How its all dirt roads and to the sites and sounds of the wooded path.

Here is Sharon. She is actually supposed to be with her classmates but she is a bit slow and ended up with my class.

Here is Erica. My quiet but boy can she get loud when excited. She suprised me at first. Timid yah right..heehee.

Catherine. We bonded because we both had scars on our faces because of falling accidents. She was soo excited to be in my class. But boy can this girl cry over spilled milk.

Here is Joshua my very very energetic boy. That and he is the clumsiest boy that I ever meet. Well except for myself that is..heehee.

Here is my class clown, Brandon. This boy is smart and acts sooo grown up. He can make anyone burst out laughing. I see a future comedian.

Rebekah. My busy bee, well one of them at least. She loves to know everything that goes on in and out of the class room.

Now we made it to the top and its time to get ready for lunch. Yah there was mixed feelings about the sandwiches. They are not used to eating american style foods.

Jessica my assistant teacher. Smart girl but she thinks that she is the teacher. Loves to boss everyone around. But you can not help but love this girl.

Brandon the old man. Heehee. He is always the first one done eating. He eats like a bird.

More of the kids finish and start to explore around the picnic area. They happen upon a dead tree and of course decided to poke it apart.

Jasmine is pointing out something to Rebekah. Oh course Rebekah looks intently at what ever it is Jasmine's pointing too.

Now most of the kids are done eating. So its time to start drawing nature as they saw it. The winner of the best picture wins 50 merit points.

Jessica is still eating. My slow poke eater. Well one of them at least.

David was done with drawing at the moment so he thought he would swing around wood like its a sword or should I say a butcher knife. But when he saw more people drawing he went right back to work.

Nicole has not even started yet. She is getting inspiration for her drawings.

Jasmine is finishing her juice. She is the popular girl at school and the girls love mimicing her.

Or maybe he will be a balancing music conducter. Nah a comdian suits him better.

Sharon never got to start her drawing. She was eating the whole time.

Nicole was finished with her drawing so she headed out to find some leaves for her bracelet. The flowers are not out yet. haha.

Here is the winner by popular demand, Andy for Yellow Class!! WOo hoo Andy!!!

Now most of the kids are done with their drawings so its time to make the leaves bracelets.

She wanted to show me that the tree was sticky.

Doesn't it look like they are sizing each other up before they fight..heehee.

Here the girls are playing mommy and daddy. I guess its another name for playing house.

My slowest girl. Boy she is attentive to details. Haha. She was drawing right up till it was time to leave.

That was the end of our hiking picnic trip. The kids had a blast and were sooo dirty when we got them back to school..haha. Well it was worth it because they went home talking about how much fun it was. :)
